NYC based two-prov founded by Nannette Deasy & Graceann Dorse
Double D is a two-prov group based in NYC, founded by Nannette Deasy and Graceann Dorse.
NANNETTE DEASY is originally from Chatham Township, New Jersey. After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in English, she began performing professionally. A member of Actors Equity Association, she has performed at numerous venues including The Public Theater, LaMama Etc., Ensemble Studio Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, and in various films.
She has been a cast member of numerous comedy groups and theatres, including Gotham City Improv, and was the former Artistic Director of The Red Tie Mafia. She is currently the Artistic Director of the award-winning Improvisational Repertory Theatre Ensemble (Asheville Fringe, Providence Fringe, Midtown International Theatre Festival, Theatre for the New City's Dream Up Festival, Portland Improv Fest, New Orleans Comedy Arts Fest, Unscripted New York 2013 & 2014, Del Close Marathon, Tampa Improv Festival, NYC Improv Festival, Boston Comedy Arts Festival and Philadelphia Improv Festival).
Graceann Dorse is an actor, writer, and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. Her award-winning short films and pilots have screened at festivals across the country, including the 2019 Women in Comedy Festival and the New York Television Festival (twice!). In addition to creating for film and TV, she is a writer/performer for the stage, having created storytelling pieces, a one-hour solo show "Farty of One", and several monologues, including one that was a semi-finalist in the 2017 Manhattan Monologue Slam Championship.
Her proudest accomplishment to date is loving her cat Beeker to death, and now he’s dead. But she got him freeze-dried and now he’s a star, appearing in films like “Don’t Blink” and “Le Meow Mort”, as well as making a cameo appearance in Double D’s improvised play “Scranton Buckets”. He also appeared in films while he was alive, but listen, this is Graceann’s bio, huh?
